Project Description

This project is a bit old but I included it in the gallery, because the creation and development of the image was more or less “experimental”. I didn’t have a clear design, just an idea in my head. I started to mix stuff like organic sculpting with hard surfaces, I created various materials and played around with the silhouette using the move elastic brush and twist.

The experimentation continued with the compositing. I used BPR to render a bunch of passes with a variety of MatCaps and shaders. Then I used an index colour pass to separate the materials based on properties of the surfaces (diffuse, shiny, reflective, etc).

Here are a few close-ups to various details on the model. I used the surface noise feature with UV master quite a bit to generate the very fin details on larger surfaces.
